ICT group VanRoey acquires Sonical and strengthens its position as an established player in managed ICT services
This acquisition anchors VanRoey in West Flanders and accelerates its growth in Microsoft-based digitization and AI
Turnhout, January 8, 2026 - VanRoey, an established Belgian provider of managed ICT services, today announces the strategic acquisition of Sonical. With this acquisition, the IT player establishes itself in West Flanders and strengthens its expertise in Microsoft applications and managed services. It also expands its specific sector expertise. Following the acquisition of Group K last summer, this new step reinforces VanRoey's burning ambition to become the Belgian benchmark in managed IT.
Based in Oostkamp, Sonical supports medium-sized and large companies in their digital transformation, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics and managed services. Operations will continue to grow from the current site in West Flanders, located at the well-known O-Forty site along the E40. In addition to Olivier Laloo, co-CEO of Sonical, and 15 employees, co-shareholders Frédéric Goossens and Dana Gheorghe are also joining VanRoey.
Geographical anchoring and content reinforcement
VanRoey has in-depth expertise in ERP solutions, data-driven operational processes, AI applications, and Microsoft Copilot, with a strong sector focus, particularly in real estate, construction, installation, and production. With Sonical, VanRoey now has a structural presence in West Flanders, in addition to the provinces of Antwerp (offices in Turnhout, Geel, Antwerp, and Mechelen) and Limburg (Houthalen).
The acquisition of Sonical also strengthens the content offering, with additional expertise in managed services and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. VanRoey can now help not only medium-sized companies, but also large enterprises to optimize their financial and operational processes within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Next to its complementary experience, Sonical has specific expertise in the wholesale and distribution sector. Thanks to this acquisition, VanRoey's application team has grown to 60 consultants.
Industry expertise and long-term customer relationships
In addition to standard Microsoft solutions, VanRoey draws on its in-depth knowledge of the industry and develops its own software tailored to the processes and needs of specific markets. This approach enables it not only to provide technological support to its customers, but also to offer them strategic guidance in the digitalization of their activities.
“With Sonical, we are welcoming a complementary player that fits perfectly with our vision of sector-specific digitization within the Microsoft ecosystem,” says Joachim Lauwers, CEO of VanRoey. “Their expertise in enterprise applications and managed services significantly strengthens our applications division and enables us to support companies in an even more targeted way in the integration of AI and data-driven processes.”
Sonical also sees this acquisition as a logical step in the company's growth. “We share VanRoey's belief that technology only truly creates value when it is based on the customer's processes and sector context,” explains Olivier Laloo, co-CEO of Sonical. “As part of VanRoey, we can offer our customers access to broader expertise and support, while retaining our own approach, our employees, and our local roots.”
Increased scale and growth ambitions
Following the acquisition, VanRoey now has more than 250 employees and generates annual revenue of around €80 million. Sonical also brings with it a portfolio of 60 to 70 organizations active in various sectors, including names such as Azelis, Karel De Grote Hogeschool, Spraying System Europe, and Cophana. "This acquisition supports our ambition to further develop our managed services activities, expand our geographical presence, and thus become the Belgian benchmark for managed IT services," concludes Joachim Lauwers.
