For our private equity team in Munich, we are looking for an Intern to support the investment team and our buy-out portfolio. The Internship will last 3-6 months with flexible start dates offered throughout 2025.

Fortino Capital is a leading European investor focused on B2B software. For more than ten years, we’ve been partnering with founders to help build and scale strong software businesses. With around €1.5bn in committed capital, we’ve invested in 23 B2B software companies since 2013. In the past three years, we’ve also expanded our footprint in Germany, acquiring four software companies in the small- and mid- market segment.
Role
The candidate will join Fortino’s private equity investment team in Munich, working within a young, dynamic group of investment professionals with a strong track record in the German market. Key responsibilities include:
- Live Deal Situations: Work directly with commercial and financial advisors, perform financial modelling and valuation analyses, independently drive
workstreams, and present insights to the investment team - Deal Sourcing: Conduct market research, develop investment theses, and map selected software verticals; support outreach to founders and
management teams of relevant software companies - Portfolio Management: Collaborate with the C-level teams of our portfolio companies, contribute to organic value-creation initiatives, and support the
identification of potential add-on acquisition targets
Profile
- Studies: Background in Business, Engineering, or a Science-related field from a highly ranked university; min. of 4 semesters completed
- Experience: Prior experience in Investment Banking/ Strategy Consulting/ Private Equity is required, strong interest for software/ technology sector is a plus
- Skills: Advanced accounting, corporate finance, M&A process knowledge; Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; good understanding of the DACH M&A environment and financial sponsors landscape
- Work style: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills; excellent communication abilities and effective time
management - Personality: Well-rounded team player with an energetic, outgoing attitude
and strong interpersonal communication skills
Internship Conditions
- Flexible start dates throughout 2026
- Duration: 3-6 months
- Location: Munich, Germany (occasional foreign travel might be required)
