Renaat Berckmoes

Renaat co-founded Fortino Capital in 2013 after more than 15 years in senior finance roles. As Managing Partner, he oversees day-to-day operations and works alongside entrepreneurs in Industry 4.0, fintech, and SaaS to help them scale responsibly and sustainably. Before Fortino, Renaat spent 12 years as CFO of Belgian broadband provider Telenet, following earlier roles at Solutia Inc. and KBC Bank. Renaat holds Master’s degrees in Business Economics from the University of Antwerp and in Political Science from KU Leuven.

He is passionate about turning structural opportunities in B2B software into lasting businesses, translating complex models into disciplined plans that deliver both growth and resilience. His goal as Managing Partner is to continue building a fund and team rooted in trust, insight, and intentional strategy.
